Passing the FRCS requires both breadth and depth of knowledge — something most candidates already demonstrate through success in Part A.

However, strong performance in Part B depends less on knowledge alone, and more on the ability to articulate clearly, structure answers, and think under pressure.

These are skills that can only be developed through practice — particularly being probed, challenged, and asked to justify your thinking in real time.

I am often asked to run viva sessions for candidates, but time constraints make it difficult to provide this consistently. This tool has therefore been created and calibrated to simulate a realistic FRCS-style viva experience.

It is designed to:

• ask focused, exam-level questions
• probe your reasoning
• challenge you at the edge of your ability
• provide structured feedback on your performance

The aim is to help you develop clarity, confidence, and composure under pressure — whatever your current level.

This is an early (beta) version, so some imperfections are expected. If you have feedback, it would be very helpful.
